First EU Poison Centres Notification deadline postponed

The first compliance deadline to submit information on chemical mixtures has been postponed until 1 January 2021.

The EU expert group on CLP (CARACAL) has agreed to postpone the first compliance deadline to 1 January 2021.

Originally information on chemical mixtures sold to the general public and classified for health or physical hazards should be notified to the poison centres no later than 1 January 2020. However, several work-related concerns have been identified.

In order to allow ECHA, Member States and industry to be ready in time, the first compliance deadline will be changed from 1 January 2020 to 1 January 2021 in accordance with the European Commission’s proposed changes to Annex VIII to the CLP regulation. Other compliance dates will not be affected.
