The first consultation is a draft opinion on the identification and prioritisation of plasticisers such as phthalates and structurally similar substances in food contact materials. Only substances authorised at EU or at national level are prioritised. Substances are placed in three groups with substances assessed before 2001 having priority over substances assessed between 2001-2011 and after 2011, respectively.

The second consultation relates to the exposure assessment of the prioritised substances. The draft protocol outlines EFSA’s intended approach to collect and analyse data for exposure assessment.
